Pasta freshly made each morning, exceptional olive oils, parmigiano reggiano and antipasti: beneath Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse, gourmet Italy unfolds a transalpine journey at the heart of the belly of Lyon.
Take just a few steps into the aisles of Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse and a scent of Italy will catch you. Among the stalls of this covered market, ranked among the most beautiful in the world, transalpine specialities hold a place of honour: hand-shaped fresh pasta, slow-simmered sauces, fine charcuterie and exceptional groceries together form an invitation to travel, faithful to the standards of the house that sponsors these halls.
At Ciao Ciao, the Italian grocery from Maison Cellerier set in the heart of Les Halles, the pleasure begins with the eyes. The antipasti unfurl their colours, from creamy burrata to truffle ham, from sun-dried tomatoes to marinated octopus. Nearby, the prepared dishes tell a whole gourmet geography: osso buco, spinach and ricotta lasagne, gnocchi, risotto, minestrone and artisanal pasta, fresh or stuffed, ready to delight the tables of Lyon.
Since spring 2026, a new Italian breeze has stirred the aisles with Lello, led by Sardinian chef Antonello Cabras. At once grocery, caterer and restaurant, the house celebrates homemade fresh pasta, antipasti and long-simmered dishes. Its tiramisu, awarded a bronze medal at the world championships in 2023, speaks for itself about the seriousness of the craft.
Extra virgin olive oils, aged parmigiano reggiano, wines from the peninsula, sweets and Italian breads: these houses make Les Halles a bridge between Lyon and Italy. To taste their specialities is to measure how, here, the fine product is lived as a shared celebration.
