Fine groceriesStall 5
Purveyor of the world's flavours since 1929
House founded in 1929

Une institution lyonnaise
It all began in 1929, when Djebraïl Bahadourian, an Armenian merchant whose family had fled the genocide, opened his first grocery in the heart of the Guillotière district in Lyon. On this cosmopolitan ground, he immediately laid out an array of spices and condiments from the East, setting the foundations of what would become a true Lyon institution.
Passionate about discovering authentic tastes, he travelled the world in search of rare and unusual flavours: spices, teas, dried fruits and pulses, but also tableware, pottery, soaps and artisanal objects. Handed down from generation to generation, this gourmet curiosity still drives the house today, now carried on by the founder's descendants.
At Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse, Maison Bahadourian carries on this legacy. The stall is an invitation to travel: rows of spices, condiments, sweet treats and fine grocery products from the Mediterranean rim and the Middle East form a counter where every fragrance tells of a port of call. A landmark address for chefs and enthusiasts alike, in search of authenticity.
