The oyster house of Les Halles since 1906, the taste of the sea at the counter
House founded in 1906

Chez Antonin is one of the oldest establishments at Les Halles. It all began in 1906 when Antonin Bellegarde opened his oyster stall at Les Halles des Cordeliers, on the peninsula. His daughter then took up the torch and guided the house through its move to cours Lafayette in 1970, where Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse beats today to the rhythm of Lyon's gastronomy.
Since 1990, Eric Giraud has watched over this institution. With his team, he carries on a demanding oysterman's craft: rigorous selection of the day's catch, shucking to order and meticulous arrangement of the stalls. Here, everything is worked fresh, from oysters to crustaceans, with no frozen or vacuum-packed produce, in the purest respect for the gifts of the sea.
The soul of the house lies in a ritual: feasting standing at the counter, a platter of seafood before you and a glass of white wine in hand, or sitting down in the heart of the market to savour fish and shellfish freshly arrived. Conviviality, freshness and generosity are the watchwords of this essential rendezvous for lovers of the sea in Lyon.
Chez Antonin also offers a bespoke catering service, able to organise receptions for 20 to 200 guests around its platters and its seafood specialities.

L'incontournable
